Allow me to introduce myself (translator, db programmer, graphic designer)

I'd like to use a content management system (CMS) to set up an on-line portfolio to showcase and discuss some of my paid work as a freelancer (translator from various languages to English, database programmer, graphic designer), as well as some of my unpaid work as a hobbyist (using executable specification languages, and high-performance vector-based database languages). After researching several CMSs I've settled on Drupal because of its built-in support for internationalization and localization (this will be a multi-language website: initially in English, Spanish, and Portuguese which are my strongest languages - and later possibly also in French, German and Russian which I also speak) and its custom-database and social-networking capabilities.
