Stargate Atlantis and SG1's end

Any Stargate fans in the mix?
Im looking forward to Atlantis and SG1 returning BUT i am sooooo not happy with the changes that are coming.
I can't believe SG1 is ending after 10 years....that just doesnt feel possible that it's been on that long. Although I will be be very happy that Vala will finally stop gracing the screen. Can't stand her. Sorry.
Which is your favourite of the two? Favourite character?
