Hey wouldn't it be sweet to have a FPS game as a widget??? like... you press f8, a halo widget comes up and you start playing. before somebody comes in, you press f8 again... this is a super idea and it would be really cool if somebody could look into it

I never bothered to learn about setting up function keys. In general are they easy to program?

Yeah, the glorius WinAPI has handlers for the function keys I think.
