lol all the people @ phpBB say that it is smokys fault, I thinks its phpBBs fault but whatever, i just want it fixed, my paycheck depends on it

maybe sphixer is talking not about smokyhosts hosting!
there could be several suggestion how to deal with your problem:

1) wrong username
2) wrong password
3) u do not have acceess right to database
4) your database doesn't exist at all

check everything and maybe problem is mentioned in this list, so try to deal with it
