Pesonally I prefer to keep things nice and fresh and having useless programs running can only slow my comp down. So for the moment I only have AVG running which is an anti-virus program.

Norton Antivirus. I don't like too many processes running in the background. Whenever they pop up, I disable them in msconfig.
