lets say like
XTML is what it is
HTML is where it is
CSS is how it looks
PHP/scripts is what it does
These are measleading statements.

First; XHTML is merely an "upgraded" version of HTML.
Second, what is "it"?
Third, PHP is not a "script".
Fourth, what do you mean with "HTML is where it is?"

yeap it is the same as html but u need little code and paste it to ur actual html page

CSS and HTML are very similiar, but css is a lot easier to work with and stuff. with css, you can have like an external file where if you change that, all the web pages (linked to that external file) will change, so it's a lot easier than html. i think http://www.lissaexplains.com gives a pretty good basic tutorial...and then there's things you just have to learn yourself =]

css is very powerful and efficient
you can create things with css that are impossible with pure html
