Its so easy to get a GMail account now I don't know why they don't just open it to the public as a Public BETA. Microsoft seem to have more or less done that with Windows Live, why can't Google do the same?
I also noticed that Google give you 100 invites, then you send a few and a few days later you have 100 again, not sure why.
I think that they aren't releasing it to the public because they don't want for their servers to be overcrowded. I am pretty sure that the people in the USA can now get GMail without an invite.
*Edit* When I registered on GMail when I got an invite from my sister, I only have 15 invites. :x
I can understand in the beginning why they would want to make it 'private'/invitation only, but by now if you want to get an invite you really don't have to look hard - I reckon that there must be somewhere around 1000+ (probably more) invites available to give away JUST from Smokyhosts memebers alone - if its so easily available why not make it public? That was my point.
MEh let google do what there gonna do i say. anyways the reason you only got 15 to start was becasue that is standard but within a week you should get 100.
