Important Information Reguarding Accounts
Smokyhosts nor individual accounts are having any security issues. If your account information has been altered or your websites are unavailable please post here. In order for SHAdmin to get a good idea of what is happening he will need to know how many accounts are having this problem.
I'm telling you this once and that is it, this is not a hack nor any fault of smokyhosts.
As far as I am aware this problem has rendered any Cpanel attempts invalid and all domains/server files under your account are unavailable to be rendered or found in your browser. Once again I am quite sure this is just probably a downed server or something along those lines. Please do not fret and allow SHAdmin enough time to get this situation under control, but like I said at least post you are having this issue. DO NOT POST THAT YOU ARE HACKED AND DO NOT BLAME SMOKYHOSTS FOR THIS PROBLEM! HAVE SOME COMMON SENSE AND ACT SENSIBLE ABOUT THIS.
Thank you for your patience and I hope this small issues doesn't change your mind about the service of smokyhosts. This is a small problem and I have no doubt it will be under control as soon as the issue is found.
Unlike normally all I need is a simple post saying you have this issue, do not post amongst one another all you need to do is post a simple " I am likewise having this problem. " Simple, effective, and keeps this post on topic.
My bet is this is simply a down server and accounts on that server are not able to be found. Not everyone will have this issue, but like I said it's a small issue and should be manageable. Do not flood the forums with this problem and don't flood up SHAdmin's PM Box. Post a simple post saying you are having this problem and everything should be better soon. If you go about spreading rumors or saying you've been hacked after this message has been posted I will suggest something in return for punishment. Don't be dumb, this is a simple issue and like I've said should be under wraps sometime in the near future.

mine got the issue ... all of them...but no worries
)))) the message that says it was 'HACKED BY Wx5Z' is just some kind of shadmin's early april fool joke
it's not like i am on the free hosting so i think an update from shadmin would be much better than your assumptions...at least for the ones who paid for hosting

Look I don't quite see how so many accounts got hacked from the same provider. I've been with Smokyhosts for over 2 years and I'm working on my third. Some may have been hacked but I seriously doubt all of them have been, I'm sorry this has happened but I am praying this is a simple error because I have some very important stuff on my hosting plan. SHAdmin, I pray you get ahold of this situation and start working on a solution because if.. not saying it is but if this was a server wide attack I pray you have a backup.

Exactly what you said, lol. Just needed to allow SHAdmin enough time to get things underwraps. Just for anyone's advice even if this has been a hack attempt, no one can plainly pin this on Smokyhosts, there are many ways for hackers to have gotten anything. Could of been from the server host, any one of our websites, or yes indeed smokyhosts. But the way SHAdmin has everything set up it's hard to connect smokyhosts to our websites. Thank you for everyone's patience and thanks for not letting this get out of hand, just hope everything is back to normal or atleast getting back to normal.

OMG!
This is really bad. I didn't get any such messages or any such issues. I'm able to access my cPanel and all the contact information remains same.
I think that the hacker has tried to access accounts by brute force method or simply guessing them.
always remember to make your password longer and more complicated, but make sure that u remember it. Never use common words or your names etc.
Use special characters numbers and alphabets in your password.
Hope that this will be solved soon

Guide whos fingers? Im sure the support will fix this issue as soon as possible, but SHAdmin could give some info when things like this happens.rockert wrote:he is a muslim so maybe it was allah who guided his fingers
Tired of Newbies asking Questions? Tell them www.UseGoogleFFS.com
I didn't read all of this thread, but that is just stupidity for calling him a muslim and all.
He might very well not be a muslim, but lives in India. And even if he is a muslim...WHO CARES? He is a nice person and has allowed us to have free hosting. He went out of his way to provide you with a service. I personally love this service and recommend it to everybody that asks me about hosting. I have never mentioned a different company.
Plus, why would SHAdmin even want to hack our accounts? He has this website that is doing very well.
I have an error on my index.php page for my site, but that is not from being hacked...it is from me trying to redirect (long story...will make another thread about this).

I have come to find out that if you want to see this aftermath of a such hacked attempt you can simply go to My Site.
Simply I would first like to say this is simply bullshit. I don't see how many people from the same damn host could be hacked by the same person. My password is no where near easy to simply guess and I haven't been using any insecure scripts to allow a hi-jack.
As far as I am concerned there is no **** way to link multiple accounts together from the same host in a method for someone to actually hack them. I am simply outraged that SHAdmin hasn't even been online or returned any of my PM's regarding this outbreak.
I do not know why the hell this is happening but there better be a back-up restoring all of my files because this was not something caused by me or anything I had on my website. I am probably one of the longest members remaining on these boards, with a very decent reputation and I'm sorry to say but if this cannot be resolved from the end of smokyhosts I will be leaving this website forever.
Once again with any website I normally build I use Nuke Evolution which has a complex protection script which is maintained quite rigorously, so I know no one hacked my website itself. As you can tell many people from this host is having the same issues, coincidence?
Sorry SHAdmin but I am a bit ticked because this is more of a problem than it looks, it isn't something small. I'd suggest some sort of investigation checking for last known IPs which accessed my website then run it by me and then if neccesary get the police involved. I have a suspision this person is located in france, I wouldn't doubt it if it's a member of smokyhosts or a past member.
