Hey, right now, my root path is /derangedtaco. I want the root path to be the actual root. http://derangedtaco.thesmokylounge.com instead of http://derangedtaco.thesmokylounge.com/deranged.

How can I do this?

Well, i dont know why do you say so, but currently your root path is http://derangedtaco.thesmokylounge.com not http://derangedtaco.thesmokylounge.com/deranged please check again.

well, the ftp account i created goes right to http://derangedtaco.thesmokylounge.com/deranged
it can't go to any lower dir..... meh...

but that's ok, isn't it? when i enter the nameservers in, the domain will just go to http://derangedtaco.thesmokylounge.com/deranged, right? so it won't matter? or will it? lol crap i'm confused!!!

edit: maybe this should be moved to cpanel help?? :?:

Well, frankly speaking, you should have used the default ftp account. i.e. use ftp by point your ftp to http://derangedtaco.thesmokylounge.com using the same username and password as that of your cpanel. That should take care of your ftp calling your home directory instead of the deranged directory.

ok, there we go. i'm using the default login now. thanks.

just one more thing.

1st: will users be able to see everything in the /www/ directory? I'm pretty sure they can, just checking
2nd: i changed my nameservers at my domain cp. waited overnight, then tried going to derangedtaco.com. it was the old page, that i had on my old host. i hit refresh and it gave me a Server not found
help!! edit: yes, i just did a whois lookup. my nameservers have changed. but i dont know exactly what the problem is :x

1st :: You must upload all the data into the public_html folder, not into the www folder.
2nd :: The above solution is the answer for this too.

Ok, I left it going overnight and it finally worked. All files are now at derangedtaco.derangedtaco.thesmokylounge.com. That works. Derangedtaco.com will take me to me index page that is hosted here. But some stuff is acting weird.

I try going to derangedtaco.com/store and it gives me an error 404. Why is that? It is a .htm file. Do files need to be .html to work here or something? I don't know. I am very confused.

Also, when I go to derangedtaco.com, I want that URL to stay in the address bar. Because right now, when you visit the index page, the URL is changed to derangedtaco.thesmokylounge.com. I don't want that.

Then I will need help re-applying my SQL databases. Thanks...

derangedtaco.com/store seems to be working fine with me. I dont get any 404 page not found error. Only thing being some script out there has gone into an infinite redirecting loop, please check it up. But other than that no problem.

I also checked out the derangedtaco.com changing the url in the address bar matter, and even this seems to be all fine from my end. Please try to clear your cache and refresh the page.
