WinZip 10.0 Build 6604 Beta
7-zip guys!!
Winzip and WinRAR are paid proggies, with a few days trial (a month I guess). If you use past that, you have to pay (or commit a federal offence).
7-zip is free and open source, with a much more kickass compression engine than Any of the abovementioned ones, it's own format .7z is great. I once compressed a 2.5Gig Folder to 226MB. WinZip Max Compression made it 798MB and WinRAR's Max, 660MB.
Get 7-zip from http://sourceforge.net/projects/sevenzip/

WinRAR better.
I would also say that WinRAR is better and so much easier to use. WinZip is most popular with Windows older than Windows XP. However, I do believe that this new Winzip will be some help to Win XP users because it will be able to compress newer formats of files. There are always some new advantages to new softwares, therefore, I don't see the reason why Winzip should be competing with WIinRAR.
