What's happening?

I understand that sometimes servers have to go down, but the downtime has been a bit erratic, I got the following report from my site-monitor.

Details

2 failed checks at 30 minute intervals starting at March 8, 2008 22:28:58 PST +19.0

1 failed check at 30 minute intervals starting at March 8, 2008 23:59:22 PST +19.0

12 failed checks at 30 minute intervals starting at March 9, 2008 11:58:21 PST +19.0

Overview

March 8

First the system was down somewhere between 31 and 89 minutes at 10:28 PM Pacific Standard Time

Then the system was down for somewhere between 1 and 29 minutes at 11:59 PM Pacific Standard Time

March 9

The system was down for somewhere between 331 and 389 minutes at 11:58 AM

I'm not complaining or anything (I love the service of SmokyHosts), I'd just like to know what's happening?

Sorry for all the issues during those days. The server had been slightly overloaded due to someone on the server sending huge amounts of spam. Once the spammer was caught and removed from the server, everything came back to normal.
