I was wondering if my hosting package has the requirements to install the new beta version of phpbb. I was wondering too if anyone else tried it yet.

Yes, smokyhosts servers have all the features needed to run the phpbb 3 beta (Olympus). I have already tried it and it works perfectly. Infact one must just wait and watch for the final release of the script. It is way more advanced in every aspect than phpbb2.0 (the current legacy).

There was a bunch of weird things that I wasn't sure about in their requirements. I will have to try it.

You may give it a try. "phpbb 3.0 beta 2" installer is so well made that it detects and shows you what and what not are installed on the server and what more are required while what are optional too!

I personally have tried it on the server and the server features all the requirements as well as many of the optionals too!!

Thats good to know, comsidering I will be upgrading to phpBB 3 when it comes out.
