I have 2 hard disks in my computer, when i boot the smart agent says one of them is bad, i press f1 and , after login, that harddisk is visible to windows2000 and it seems to work just fine
this problem started when i tryed a power management scheme and that harddisk stayed frozen after he was turned off. since than , every time a power on my computer, that harddisk reports a smart error.
if i reset 1-2 times the smart error dissapear to.
can anybody help me understand whats happening ?

I don't really understand how SMART works, but I think its supposed to be a warning. I think that it is likely your drive could fail soon. I suggest you ensure you have a backup everything on that drive then wait and if it doesn't fail soon then you are probably ok.
Another option is to contact the manufacturer of the drive. They are the best ones to explain to you how the drive and its SMART capability works.
