The domain isn't very important it's your name for the site. The Site and Slogan are what catch the viewer's attention.
Go with something uncommon, it's cheaper and make's your site stand out.

I like .com because it's the most common and u can just type the name of the site and press CTRL+ENTER to go to it, eg. site name is smokyhosts.com type smokyhosts in the address bar and press CTRL+ENTER

To me, .com looks more professional. But since you want a personal site, anything will do.
